Root Canal Treatment
Root Canals are done to treat and preserve teeth with severe decay, inflammation or are infected. The pulp is the live portion of the tooth which extends into the root and contains nerve endings and tissues. When the pulp becomes very inflamed or infected, patients can experience extreme pain, swellings or tooth loss.
Root canal therapy removes the diseased pulp tissue. In some cases, an antibiotic is prescribed to help with infection. Oftentimes, a crown is recommended after the root canal to restore the tooth to normal function and appearance.
We diagnose your pain and pulpal injury to determine if your tooth is a good candidate for a root canal. Endodontic therapy removes the diseased or infected pulp and thoroughly cleans and seals the root canal system.
